Course Information

Before arrival, students are asked to complete a needs analysis questionnaire which will help local staff to plan the course specifically around their requirements. For example, a one-to-one student may need to use Portuguese in a business environment; whereas a small group may need to study the language for further academic use elsewhere in Brazil. We can normally accommodate most requirements, as well as providing general Portuguese language courses.

We believe that all classes should be enjoyable so that students profit fully from their Portuguese course. Not all learning takes place in the classroom and students are helped to immediately put their learning into practice.

For every week of 20 hours of tuition or more, students have access to a one-hour session with a professional speech therapist to perfect their pronunciation. This has proven to be one of the most popular features of our Portuguese course. Students who wish to have extra speech therapy should advise Viviane, the School Director at any time during their stay.

Open Groups have fixed starting dates and students are asked to arrive in Recife the day before classes begin. One-to-one students and pre-arranged groups can however be accepted at any time. Extra tuition is always available for any member of a group on request.

Open groups have a maximum of 8 students, and tuition is 4 hours a day, 5 days a week (a total of 20 hours weekly). There is a minimum requirement of one week of tuition. These groups are open to all comers.

One-to-one classes are available for executive students. These classes can start at any time on a date of your choosing. We provide executive classes for companies and also for private individuals. Please let us know at least one week in advance of your arrival.
